We Are All Andrew Breitbart

My favorite thing about the internet is Breitbart.com….and twitter.  I just can’t get over how awesome it is to see everyday conservatives speaking out, no fear, no shame, nothing reserved. We’ve formed alliances with people we’ve never met, yet instantly know, and we’re taking away the MSM’s power to control information and narrative in America. This is vital; when people are informed, they can think for themselves and make their own decisions, but when the MSM is picking and choosing what people know, their opinions are swayed. (And I think we all know in which direction.)  But that’s the thing; we’ve got to speak out and stick together if we want to make any sort of a difference.  Check my followING list for a lot of great conservatives to follow; I’m always looking for more, so follow me and I’ll follow you back. (@drumbeast22598) You can tell which ones I’m talking about; the others are friends and percussion-centered accounts. So be bold, my friends, and always be willing to stand by your fellow conservatives.  Together, we can all be Andrew Breitbart.

The Power of Friendship

I’m reeeaaalllyyyyy glad I stayed up late tonight on twitter.  Thanks a million to Erick Brockway, (@erickbrockway) Dan Riehl, (@DanRiehl) and anyone else who shared any of my blog posts.  I’ve always thought conservatives made the best friends; now I know it.  Please follow these guys; great tweets. One More Reason to Stand Your Ground

Alright, so it’s been a little while since we’ve heard much about the Trayvon Martin case, but now the autopsy report on Trayvon Martin has come out, and it shows that the only injury besides the gun wound was… bloody knuckles.  You can either conclude that a) Martin was wailing on Zimmerman pretty hard, or, b) Zimmerman, who sustained a broken nose, was, as one witty commenter posted on the Breibart.com story, trying to break Trayvon’s hands with his face.  Look, I know his whole thing is really controversial, whether or not you support George Zimmerman you can not ignore the fact that there has been incredible bias in Trayvon’s favor.   • Pictures used by major new networks of Trayvon as a bubbly, smiling kid several years ago; Zimmerman gets old mugshot.
  • MSNBC edits 911 call to make Zimmerman sound racially motivated
  • MSM refers to Zimmerman first as white, then as “White-Hispanic”. (If he’s White-Hispanic, Obama is White-African American. Chill it with the double standards, media.)
  • Video pushed by MSM of Zimmerman shortly after the incident showing no sign of injury, which ended up being because he’d had the blood all over his head washed off already.
  • It took FOREVER (or at least unitl the New Media forced the Mainstream to report on it) for Martin’s shady record of suspension  for assumed possesion of marijuana to surface.

No one really knows exactly what went down that night, but everyone can tell that Left-wing powers have already made up their minds about it all.  Why?  It’s an opportunity.  Using the story of an innocent young man gunned down at the prime of life because his race made him look shifty to a white guy prowling the neighborhood is a whole lot more effective at drumming up public support to repeal Stand Your Ground- type laws than the straight story.  They found a tradgedy that could easily be spun and stretched into a moving narrative.  Hold to your logic, folks; the issue here is not the legitimacy of Stnad Your Ground laws, but whether or not they apply to Zimmerman’s actions.  I’m still considering Zimmerman’s innocence myself, but I’d like to get the full facts, regardless of who they favor, so that I can come to a decision.  It’s all one more reason to always stand your ground.

Project Veritas = Total BEAST.

Project Veritas has come out with some of the best incriminating journalism I’ve ever seen; these are the same people, led by James O’Keefe, that single-handedly exposed ACORN and ultimately led to the end of its federal funding.  But this crop of videos is dedicated to exposing the voter fraud that liberals abroad deny exists.  One of the first of these videos showed a man (bearing no resemblance whatsoever to Eric Holder) go in to the polls in Eric Holder’s district… and try to vote as Eric Holder. (This was the guy secretly filming it all.)  The outrage is that he could have if he wanted to; the pollworker repeatedly told him that he didn’t need an I.D. to vote before until he finally decided to go get it anyway as an excuse to leave. (“Don’t worry! I’ll be back faster than you can say furious!”)   The 5th video came out today, exposing voter fraud and whacky liberal professors expressing their true opinions on voter fraud in North Carolina.  It starts off with a “strange man” sporting lederhosen going in to the polls to vote… as a non-citizen from the South American country of Columbia.  (You would think the lederhosen would make them question if he was actuall from Columbia, but mom’s had a pollworker try to look up “Waggoner” under the Y section once.)  Of course, they were happy to let him vote without his I.D., but he went to go fetch it anyway as an excuse to leave.   The last part of the video shows where a guy goes in and tells the university’s LGBT program director that he and about 30 friends have voted in their unspecified home state and then again in North Carolina.  The  woman chuckles and says, “Okay, alright. Hopefully no one will figure that out…”.  It’s insane, the things people do and say when they think no one is watching.  If you haven’t seen the videos, google them right now.   Props to James O’Keefe and everyone involved with Project Veritas; incredible work.  After all, someone’s got to hold Lefties and their policies accountable.

Bastion of Tolerance? I Think Not.

Can somebody please call up the Left and try to explain to them that tolerance is a two-way deal?  It amazes me that the same gang of folks who preach tolerance to the point of never saying anything to be tolerated (only if you disagree with them, of course.) can turn around and post comments like this on Bristol Palin’s blog;  “Kill yourself”, “You’re an argument for abortion,” “I wish awful things on your family and hope you die a slow, painful , miserable death,”  “Bristol is just against marriage of any description,” plus a plethora of hateful (and often profane) insults.  I would like to point out that there were a few people who disagreed with her blog post but did at least come out to her defense; the world needs more people like y’all.  But as for the rest of these folks, get a clue.  She might have a different opinion, (along with every right to present it,) but she did nothing to hurt you.  So figure out how to present a logical argument instead of a hateful rant, and start showing us a little of the tolerance you preach to everyone else.  If everyone showed true tolerance, basically showing respect but still being free to express your opinion, no matter how offensive it may be perceived as, then maybe our arguments would be more like debates among civil citizens.  Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll ever manage to get everyone on board with that, but it would be nice if at least those who preach a one-sided tolerance to all of us could show a little actual tolerance themselves.

-I would also like to point out that Bristol Palin is actually a rather admirable person.  Yeah, she made a mistake.  A mistake that involved camping with friends and too much to drink.  But the awesomeness about her is that she’s doing all she can to give that mistake purpose; unlike many would-be single moms, she didn’t opt for abortion, and she spends a lot of her time helping abstinence campaigns.  Anyone can make a mistake, but not everyone can get back up like that.-

Keep One Thing in Mind

I know I usually devote my daily post to a recent news story, but this one’s a little different.  Every once in a while, especially in a time like this, I think it’s important to take a break from current events (and worries) and remember why we even care in the first place.  I thought maybe a couple quick bits from Patrick Henry’s timeless speech at the Virginia Convention might accomplish this. (I took the two most powerful sections to keep the post short, but I highly recommend you read the entire speech if you haven’t.)

“The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.”

A few lines later….

“It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

I beg you all to take these words to heart; our freedom is a sacred thing.  A deep desire for freedom dwells in every human being, and those who enjoy it so often take it for granted.  It is one of those few, powerful things that has driven mankind since the dawn of time.  What else do men willingly sacrifice their lives to posses?  What else can unite the most bitter of foes, besides a deep yearn for liberty?  We are perhaps the most blessed civilization to ever walk the Earth, enjoying a freedom and prosperity that only a handful of individuals could ever dream of.  We must, just as our young country’s patriots did, be willing to sarifice whatever nescessary to preserve this liberty, for we are in a second revolution;  not fought in the fields, with rifles, but with our words and actions, in the hearts and minds of our great nation.  We must never grow weary; with God on our side, we will prevail.
